"Do I need to make you swear an oath before a tree?"

"No." Was that a jape? With Stannis, it was hard to tell.

Stannis + Sass

Stannis is such an awesome character and he gets no love from the show writers.

The reason why I still care about the WWE.

The reason why I still care about the WWE.

And in those unspoken words lie the entirety of our desires that may never be fulfilled.

Yes, I'd like one crying about Clint and Natasha's friendship please. With a side of I want the Black Widow movie now. And maybe she could be bisexual and hook up with Maria Hill at some point for dessert.

captainofalltheships:

everyone wants a black widow movie and we deserve one!

consider also nat/pepper for the full competent redheads package

as far as clint and nat:

  • first of all i think you should know about this post
  • clint is the only reason natasha is alive and she considers herself in debt to him not because of this, but because he was probably the first person that told her she could be a good person, even if she didn’t believe it at the time
  • coulson gets nat involved by telling her that clint’s been compromised: he is her weakness
  • they have private jokes
  • the arrow necklace!!!!

also have this headcanon thingy i’ve written amended to only be friendshippy/roommates au:

  • Who’s the messiest one: They are both unbelievable slobs when they let their guard down and the closest they come to letting their guard down is around each other. Luckily they have so few possessions it doesn’t really show. Natasha at least manages to appear pristine, but Clint has no problems walking around for a week wearing the same shirt even if it’s stained with coffee and blood (all his shirts seem to have a little bit of blood on them and it makes no sense given that he’s a ranged fighter).
  • Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA: Nat is uncomfortable with all displays of actual affection public or otherwise (because apparently punches, even if they’re soft, don’t count).
  • Who’s the funniest drunk: Clint is by far the person you most want to get drunk with. If the possibility of getting arrested isn’t a major concern for you. Also he has the lowest tolerance out of everyone on the team so you wouldn’t die matching him. Nat just gets sleepy and rests her head on people’s shoulders the few times she’s actually drunk.
  • Who texts the most: Clint is very proud of the fact that he is faster than Natasha at texting. She has a lot of catching up to do if she wants to compete with a man that has too much of nothing else to do than stand above everyone surveying their movements while typing without looking and sending out mass texts about his lunch options and hot gossip.
  • Who has the most embarrassing taste in music: Clint’s habit of occasionally singing 90s boyband anthems is nothing compared to Natasha’s eurovision obsession. Nobody understands it, but they’re too chicken to question it. Steve got a pass when he was legitimately confused about what was happening.
  • Who reads the most: Neither of them reads much.
  • Who’s better with kids: Depends on what you define as better. If you want the kids washed, fed and asleep two hours before their bedtime, Natasha is your woman. Clint is more of the cool uncle who feeds them candy and lets them play with sharp objects.
  • Who’s the one that fixes things around the house: They’re both handy, but Clint’s policy of fixing up everything with duct tape led to serious plumbing issues and Natasha being in charge of the tool box.
  • Who’s got the weirdest hobby: Well they both share it and it’s going to underground cage-fights. Nat challenges, Clint bets on her and then they go to a nice restaurant with the winnings.
  • Who cooks and who cleans up: Whether it’s Nat barbecuing or Clint perfecting his college student style cuisine they eat it on the floor on paper plates and just toss things when they’ve finished and wash the few utensils they have.

An ode to Viserys

Let’s harken back to a word where Aerys II Targaryen(also called the Mad King) ruled, a world where the Targaryen dynasty could not realized it’s own mortality, because even if Dragons do die, their myth lives on forever.

In this world a Viserys is third in line to become King behind his brother Rhaegar and his nephew Aegon, just a kid enjoying being born as a Prince and being regale with the tales of gallantry that every kid dreams to one day achieve himself; Aemon the “Dragonknight”, Sir Dunca “the Tall” and even Sir Arthur Dayne “the Sword of the Morning” must’ve been his goals. After all, his father still had some years left in him, his brother even more and his nephew was nothing but a baby, so to young Viserys becoming King would’ve been a distant thought, kinda like how Bran never thought of himself as Lord of Winter fell because of Robb and saw himself as a knight.

The one thing that truly bugs me to no end is how Viserys gets put down by show watchers (and some book readers) as a second Joffrey in the story, another blonde prick who should get slapped before he gains any power, but whereas Joffrey was a dick because he felt entitled to the Throne, Viserys was merely resentful of all that had befell him.

He went through hearing of his brother dying at the Trident after disappearing with a woman who was not his wife Elias, he was separated from his father when the invasion of King’s Landing was imminent and left with his pregnant mother, he lived to hear of his Father being slain by a member of his own Kingsguard, the gallant and young Sir Jaime who Viserys with his dreams of Knights probably looked up to, lived to see his Mother die during the birth of his younger sister in Dragonstone and was then exiled along with her to Essos, a foreign country where the name Targaryen meant nothing.

In a very short amount of time he went from third in line and hopeful knight to King without a Kingdom.

He was King in name and by birthright and yet in this new country he was a beggar, unable to turn back as the man who killed his brother now proclaimed himself King and sat on his Father’s throne, yet always moving to avoid assassination and save his sister.

Over time the kid with the gallant dreams grew bitter of the world around him, because in his eyes their mockery was an insult on his house, the proudest house there ever was and he was not going to forget that, he was a Dragon, he was the last Dragon.

Fast forward to the day that Daenerys allows Drogo to “crown” him and see his face when she says that Drogo will give him a crown that man will tremble to behold. To Viserys that was his suffering being vindicated, the ship which is the world, righting itself and steering in the right direction and for a fleeting moment he was that kid again, for that one moments his guards vanish and only the joy of the possibility to recover that which he once lost is there for everyone to see. That was the true Viserys.

People who hate Viserys tend to like Daenerys and ignore the fact that if not for her Dragons being brought into the world, she would’ve been just like him, heck she beggared in Qarth for less than a year *after hhaving Dragons and almost went crazy, and yet continue to vilify him without understanding him.

More people should understand Viserys and realize that he was not only cast away from his land, but also from his own nature.

Pondering whether I should write more here.

Three siblings, a lucky number…and yet I am the last.

I don’t care much about Dany, but I feel the other two.

That was the saddest thing, the thing that tore at her afterward… the way he smiled.
The most tragic character in the ASOIAF and GoT series is without a doubt Viserys. He lived to see the rise of his brother who everyone believed was going to be the best king in the dynasty and how he fell and dragged his entire family with him, leaving Viserys as an outcast, a King without a country that had to raise his sister in a place where everyone mocked him as “the beggar King”. And then comes the opportunity of a lifetime, to trade his sister for a chance at regaining his crown and even a knight swears an oath to him and then of course this also crumbles in front of him. His sister gets worshipped as a Queen while he becomes the beggar again, only now he’s truly alone and not even his sister stands by his side and the knight who swore his oath gets in his way when he tries to take the dragon eggs to gain another opportunity to become King. So here he is, drunk, alone, beyond recognition of what once made his house so great and he pleads once more and gets promised that his wish will come true, and in that instant, that fleeting instant, he’s happy because all those years of suffering and mockery seem to not have been for naught. And it ends again, because it’s Viserys and his fate was to get close but never touch what he desired, he was I cards, only he never flew as high.
